Update: An unexpected turn for the Ascender

We’ve got some news about the Ascender. Bryan, the founder of Migo Robotics reached out to us on September 25, 2024 with this update:

In just 40 days, with only an early-stage prototype, we successfully secured $2.6 million from over 3,000 backers worldwide, marking one of the largest crowdfunding projects in the home service robot category.

However, unforeseen capital challenges have placed tremendous pressure on our founding team. After careful consideration, we made the difficult decision to refund our backers. Additionally, due to limited cash flow, we have suspended the project and dissolved our engineering and marketing teams.

As we have ceased the project and are not actively seeking investment, Ascender will not be available to order in the short term. However, we firmly believe that this product has the potential to benefit many people. Recently, we received two acquisition offers from top-tier robot vacuum manufacturers, and we are currently negotiating terms. If an acquisition is successful, we will update you accordingly.

Kurt’s key takeaways

Say goodbye to the hassle of multi-floor cleaning with the Ascender. With its revolutionary features, including stair-climbing capability, smart navigation, and cleaning performance, Ascender is more than just a cleaner – it’s a lifestyle upgrade for your home. Say hello to effortless, hands-free cleaning and reclaim your time for the things that matter most.
