Here’s the way to book a private pool by the hour.

An app that some are calling the AirBNB of swimming pools is seeing a major uptick in volume during the pandemic. Swimply app shows nearby private pools available to rent by the hour for an average rate of $40 to $60.

Much like ordering an Uber or booking an AirBNB the transaction is contactless. The Swimply process is to have all the arrangements done on the app so the owner stays inside their home with the window shades drawn as you enjoy your own private pool on demand.

Tip: 80% of pools offer bathrooms

Swimply says they have 6,000 pool listings and find them is as easy as launching the app and seeing pools that in my case are just a few blocks away. The better the amenities like a private cabana with bathroom and changing room makes the rate higher. Special holidays and weekends are met with a surcharge or minimum time booking.

Swimply points out that the CDC guidelines show no evidence that Covid-19 is spread through water, even in shared swimming pools. When you book a private pool on Swimply, you’ll need to bring the essentials since most owners adhere to the safety protocols that do not allow for sharing of accessories.  Bring these recommendations above and  you will be all set for fun at the pool.
