Facebook Bringing Virtual Reality to Your Phone?

CyberGuy’ Kurt Knutsson on the potential uses of virtual reality technology in the future.

Mark Zuckerberg didn’t spend $2 Billion for nothing.  That’s what price Facebook agreed to buy Oculus VR, what he calls the leader in virtual reality.  He just might be right.

Early reviews from those able to spend even a few minutes with the much touted VR headset made by the company is leaving their heads spinning and a residual wow factor that must have also struck the nerve of the otherwise unexcitable usual monotone CEO of Facebook.

Zuckerberg expects spherical video or 3D video to be big in your Facebook timeline.  This VR technology immerses you into the video as a most active participant rather than passive 2D perspective.  I’ll be hosting a VR panel for Digital Hollywood shortly and look forward to updating you on new insights.
