If you and the recipient both have iPhones, you can use iMessage to send and receive text messages. iMessage is Apple’s own messaging service that works over Wi-Fi or cellular data. It also allows you to enable read receipts for your messages. To turn on read receipts for iMessage, follow these steps:
- On your iPhone, open Settings
- Tap Messages
- Then toggle on Send Read Receipts
- Now, when you send a message to another iPhone user who has iMessage enabled, you will see a blue bubble around your message. This means that your message was sent using iMessage. You will also see a status below your message, such as Delivered or Read.
