Unwanted Message? Here’s How to Stop Annoying Texts

While there is no foolproof way to stop unwanted text completely, these easy to follow tips and tricks will help fend off text spam in a big way.

1/ Block the Caller

On an iPhone, simply tap the little “i” circle on the top right. Tap the phone number and select Block this Caller

On Android, Tap the three dot menu. Select People & Options > Block

2/ Alert Your Wireless Carrier

iPhone & Android: If you have AT&T, Verizon, Sprint or T-Mobile, hold your finger on the spam message until options come up. Tap Forward from the menu, and enter recipient “7726” which happens to spell out SPAM to alert your carrier to a text spammer.

Whatever you do, avoid replying to the text spammer. This only tells the sender that you received their message and encourages more annoying texts.
