There are three things that I look for in a phone mount for my car. 1) Smart, strong design that’s aesthetically pleasing, 2) positioning the mount so that I am least distracted while driving and 3) good quality and price.
I can’t stand my phone flying around the cabin of a car, slipping out of my pocket into the tight crevice of the center console and seat, and rattling around in the built-in cup holder. Here are 5 big reasons why I recommend you invest in one right away.
Consequences of not having this device:
Legal ramifications
Without a phone mount, you may be tempted to hold your phone in your hand while driving, which can be highly dangerous and against the law in some jurisdictions. Texting and driving is illegal in 48 states and the District of Columbia. In 24 states and the District of Columbia, it’s illegal to use any handheld device while driving. If you’re caught using your phone while driving you may face penalties such as fines, points on your license, or even license suspension. Without a phone mount, you’re more likely to engage in this unsafe behavior and expose yourself to legal consequences.
Damaged phone
Placing your phone in unstable positions or simply leaving it loose in the car increases the chances of accidental drops, falls, or damage caused by sudden braking or turns. A secure phone mount provides stability and protects your device from potential harm.
Reduced visibility
Placing your phone in improper locations, such as the cup holder or passenger seat, can obstruct your view of the road. This compromises your visibility and may lead to hazardous situations, especially when you need to check directions quickly.
Inadequate charging
Many phone mounts come with built-in charging capabilities, allowing you to keep your phone powered during long drives. Not having a mount with charging functionality means you may end up with a drained battery, leaving you without communication or emergency assistance.
Difficulty in navigating
Placing your cell phone it in an inconvenient spot while using GPS navigation can make it difficult to follow directions. This can result in missed turns, delayed arrivals, and added stress during your journey.
Benefits of a car mount
On the bright side, investing in a reliable phone mount for your car can alleviate these issues and ensure a safer, more convenient, and more efficient driving experience. I have two phones and have found that vent clips make the drive safer and the phones are out of the way. they look cool too, on each side of the wheel, unfortunately, they won’t fit the vents of my current car and that’s something you need to look out for
