Did your CyberGuy Newsletter get lost in the shuffle after updating to iOS 18.2? No worries—we’ve got you covered! With just a few quick tweaks in Apple Mail, you can ensure our latest tech tips, alerts, and fun games stay front and center in your inbox. Follow the steps below and never miss out on what’s new.
Steps to Prioritize the CyberGuy Newsletter in Apple Mail on iOS 18.2:
- Open the Apple Mail App:
Launch the Mail app on your iPhone or iPad. - Find a CyberGuy Newsletter Email:
Scroll through your inbox and locate any email from the CyberGuy Newsletter. If you don’t have one handy, check your “Junk” or “Promotions” folders. - Mark CyberGuy as a “Primary” email
- Tap the email from a sender you wish to recategorize
- Tap , then choose “Categorize Sender”.
- The CyberGuy Newsletter will now appear in your Primary email folder. Fair warning, there have been some bugs of errors in this system…fingers crossed, they fix it soon.
Optional extra steps to make sure you get my newsletter every single time:
- Mark CyberGuy as a VIP Sender:
- Tap the sender’s name or email address at the top of the email.
- Select “Add to VIP” from the options menu that appears.
- Emails from CyberGuy will now be directed to your VIP inbox, ensuring they stand out.
- Create a Custom Mailbox for CyberGuy: (Optional but recommended)
- Go to the Mail app and tap “Mailboxes” in the top-left corner.
- Tap “Edit” in the top-right, then “Add Mailbox.”
- Name the mailbox (e.g., “CyberGuy”) and tap “Save.”
- Go back to the email, tap the folder icon, and move it to your new mailbox. Future newsletters can be filtered here.
- Enable Notifications for VIPs:
- Open the Settings app and navigate to Mail > Notifications > VIPs or Primary tabs.
- Turn on “Allow Notifications” and customize the alert style to ensure you’re notified whenever a CyberGuy email arrives.
- Add CyberGuy to Contacts:
- Open the CyberGuy email, tap the sender’s name, and choose “Add to Contacts.”
- Save the contact to ensure better email delivery and reduce the chances of being flagged as spam.
- Check Your Focus Settings: (If Focus Modes Are Active)
- Go to Settings > Focus > [Selected Focus Mode] > Apps.
- Ensure Apple Mail or VIP senders are included in “Allowed Notifications.”
