I definitely did not see this one coming.  While I have not yet sourced information directly from Apple, I bet they didn’t either.

Ever so quietly, Apple launched a new product online that must have gone gangbusters cause its sold out with the earlier delivery date 2 weeks after Christmas. It’s nothing breakthrough. Although it certainly could be useful.

We’re talking about a $19 Apple Polishing Cloth.

Apple describes the Polishing Cloth like this on their site, “Made with soft, nonabrasive material, the Polishing Cloth cleans any Apple display, including nano-texture glass, safely and effectively.”

The site label in the Apple Store still says “new”, but you can’t have it anytime soon.

Apple warned about supply chain issues impacting holiday iPhone and other device sales related to chip shortages, but said nothing about this magic cloth.

Don’t you worry. I’ve got a fix. How about spending a lot less for the similar polishing cloth and getting it in a day or two instead?

Sure none of these I’ve tested below will come with the Apple logo emblazoned on the corner of the cloth, but they will all do an excellent job of cleaning smudges and fingerprints from your iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch display without scratching it.
