why wouldn’t you get another number that was anonymous and use that as your private number and give it out to your family and personal contacts, as many bad actors already have your number as you already know because they annoy you every day, and will continue to spam away at your even if you get another number. that is, all your contacts have your number, the spammers do too, so how best to stop spam calls even if you get a new number and give that out to people not in your address list? How does this idea work unless your original number you have had for years supposedly, is still out there in space?

Hi Rex, I was going to ask the same thing. People who violate the DoNotCall list aren’t going to stop using your existing number. You could end up getting more spam calls since now you could receive spam calls on your secondary number(s) as well?!? Plus, you gotta ask: what are these companies (i.e. Google) getting out of giving you a “free” phone number? They have to get something out of it – nothing is “free”!
