Receiving robocalls can be incredibly annoying, especially when they get ahold of your landline number. It’s easy to block a spam phone number on a smartphone. However, landlines can be trickier. We recently received this question from one Joseph from Arlington, Texas, who was having this issue with robocalls. Here’s what he is asking.
We get 2 or 3 calls per hour on our landline phone. Anything from medical supply sales to alleged requests to update our pharmacy records or similar topics. We signed up for the do not call list years ago and enrolled in a data removal service 5 months ago, yet the calls continue. We no longer answer the phone but the constant ringing never ends so we turned off the ringer. Any other steps that can be taken?
-Joseph, Arlington, TX

How to keep spammers from getting your phone number in the first place
Regrettably, there is a high probability that your phone number is readily available on many lists sold by data brokers to hundreds of people search websites. However, if you remove it from the web it can reduce the likelihood of spammers and telemarketers obtaining your number and contacting you.
A data removal service like Incogni can help you remove personal information including cell phone number as well as your sensitive personal information such as your name, age, home address, email addresses, your family members, other people associated with you, your income range, credit score range, political preferences, criminal records, and much more.
Incogni has a very clean interface and will scan 195+ websites for your information and remove it …and keep it removed. Go ahead and try entering your information just to get a sense of the information that is out there about you.
Special for CyberGuy Readers (60% off): Incogni offers A 30-day money-back guarantee and then charges a special CyberGuy discount only through the links in this article of $5.99/month for one person (billed annually) or $13.19/month for your family (up to 4 people) on their annual plan and get a fully automated data removal service, including recurring removal from 175+ data brokers. I recommend the family plan because it works out to only $4.12 per person per month for year-round coverage. It’s an excellent service, and I highly recommend at least trying it out to see what it’s all about.

My elderly mother was receiving 12-15 robocalls per day for the past 2 years and after a period of time our family was concerned and she was overwhelmed. I tried everything from reverse search, registering with the National Do Not Call List, and blocking individual numbers. I purchased and installed the landline phones Kurt recommended on his newsletter (this AT&T phone). Set up her directory to include family, friends, doctors, local pharmacies and sent everything else through the screening process. Wow! What a difference. We now have taken control over these crazy robocallers and hope they will give up! Highly recommend installing these phones for your home landline if you have the same issue. Thank you Kurt!!!
