f you’re considering becoming a member of Amazon Prime to take advantage of their Black Friday/Cyber Monday or multiple Prime Day sales, you should know that there are even more advantages that come along with your enrollment. You’ll score discounts at Whole Foods Market, you’ll get quicker shipping times on most Amazon products, and of course, you’ll have access to Amazon’s streaming and music platforms with tons of movies, TV shows, and songs to choose from.
And this isn’t all. Whether you’re considering membership (get it cheaper here) or already paying the $139 annual fee, we’ve found 9 of the best lesser-known but fantastic features that come with Amazon Prime.
Why get an Amazon Prime membership?
1. Amazon Photos

Amazon Prime members can take advantage of Amazon Photos. Amazon Photos offers unlimited storage for Prime members, along with 5 GB free for video storage. Plans for more video storage start at $1.99 a month and go up to $11.99 per month for 2 TB of photos and videos.
You can access your photos on the Amazon Photos App, available for Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android. You can also use devices like a Fire TV, Echo Show, or Fire tablet.
Amazon Photos also offers prints, photo gifts, and cards with free shipping for all Prime members. Try Amazon Photos to order your next family vacation photo book, or make cards for any occasion using your own uploaded pictures.
2. More delivery day options
Almost anyone who has heard of Amazon Prime knows about 2-day shipping. While shipping times can always vary, many cities and states offer more delivery options than just 2-day.
Same-day delivery
If your order is over $35 of qualifying purchases, your same-day Amazon delivery is free for Prime members in select cities only. Also, Availability may be limited on certain days or due to weather, local events, or traffic. Delivery is only $2.99 if your total is less than $35.00 and thousands of items qualify.
Check for items that are eligible for delivery “Today” as you’re shopping on Amazon, and select Same-Day Delivery during checkout. Check your zip code to see if your area offers same-day delivery as well.
Amazon delivery day
Choose which days you prefer to have your packages delivered for free with Amazon Day Delivery. You can choose up to 2 days (except Sunday) and make that your preferred option for delivery. Then as you shop throughout the week, those packages will come together in fewer shipments, using few boxes, and come on the days you know you’ll be home to get them inside faster.
3. Amazon Household
Share your Amazon Prime account with your whole family for free. You can use Amazon Household to manage who in your family has access to your Prime benefits, which of course, includes more than just shopping. Your household can stream content, use Prime Gaming, and get quick delivery, all within one Prime account.
One Amazon Household allows up to two adults and up to four teens and four children to use your Prime account. You also have control over the settings for each of these accounts.
Teen Logins lets them stream and shop on their own Amazon account, and you approve purchases with a simple text.
Children can be added to Fire Tablets and Kindle e-readers. Children are not able to shop, and the content they can see is completely controlled by you.
Your Household can also use Amazon Photos and share access to eBooks, audiobooks, games, music, apps, and more.
4. Amazon Pharmacy

Amazon is making it easier to avoid waiting in lines to pick up those prescription bottles with Amazon Pharmacy, which is a prescription drug home delivery service. Amazon Pharmacy accepts most major insurance plans and offers low prices on medication, free delivery with Prime, and 24/7 on-call pharmacists. You can also save with coupons on brand-name meds or subscribe to RxPass to get all eligible meds for $5 a month with Prime.
Once you’ve provided your list of current medications, you can enter your insurance information and the prescriber’s name, if applicable. Then Amazon Pharmacy offers you upfront pricing and supply options of 30 days, 90 days, and 6 months. With your Amazon Prime account, shipping is free and fast. Best of all, you can manage your meds, track your order, and control the settings for each account in your household.
5. Whole Foods Discounts

If you shop at Whole Foods, Amazon gives Prime members an extra 10% off on sale items at their physical stores. You can download the Whole Foods app on your phone and log in with your Amazon Prime account. When you’re ready to checkout, scan the code, and you’ll receive your discount, or you can also use your phone number to get the discount at checkout. Additionally, you can also receive a 2-hour delivery of your Whole Foods groceries, as noted here, but this service is only available in select ZIP codes and requires a minimum order of $35.00.
6. Coupon page
While you can find all sorts of coupons by brands on this page, be sure to look out for coupons that are available on the specific product page you are looking to purchase. Be sure to clip the coupon to get the discount as it will not be automatically added to your purchase.
7. Daily Lightning Deals
Check out this Today’s Deal page and be sure to bookmark it! You will find last-minute, quick sales on certain items on this page. Be sure to act quickly before it sells out!
8. Amazon Warehouse
Amazon Warehouse has millions of open boxes, refurbished, renewed, and used goods. Few know that retail giant Amazon has a renewed outlet shopping area that can save you when buying items in good to like-new condition.
Make sure you get a very good understanding of an item’s condition before buying. You are protected by Amazon’s policies making it easier to return the rare dud.
9. Credit Card Perks

While many credit cards come with perks, Amazon Prime offers both credit cards and perks for many users paying with credit cards.
Shop with points
If you have a qualifying credit card (including American Express, Chase, Discover, and more) you can link up your card to your Amazon Prime account for extra benefits. Earn credit card points, and pay for your Amazon purchases using your points. Select Pay with Points while checking out.
Amazon credit cards
Amazon Prime offers two credit cards: the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card and the Amazon Prime Store Card. Both cards require a Prime membership that costs $139 per year or $14.99 per month. The Visa card offers 5% cash back on Amazon and Whole Foods purchases, 2% back on restaurants, gas stations, and drugstores, and 1% back on all other purchases for Prime members. It also comes with a $70 gift card bonus, no foreign transaction fees, and some travel and hotel benefits. The Store card offers 5% cash back on Amazon purchases or special financing options for Prime members. It also comes with a $40 gift card bonus.
Second, Amazon Prime also offers perks for many users paying with credit cards, but not all credit cards are eligible. For example, you can get 10% back or more on select products with Prime Card Bonus if you use an eligible Prime credit card. You can also get 5% back at Amazon and Whole Foods when you use the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card or the Amazon Business Prime American Express Card. You can also get free two-hour delivery of your Whole Foods groceries in select ZIP codes if you use an eligible Prime credit card.
